Workshop Instructor

Do you light up a room with your energy? Love connecting with people, sparking creativity, and guiding thoughtful, memorable workshops? We’re looking for a passionate, people-first Workshop Instructor to lead our Candle and Diffuser Making Workshops—with a vibe that’s part host, part hype-person, part hands-on maker.

Location: Milk Jar Candle Company (in person).

Type: Part-Time (4–25 hours per week, typically covering 1–5 workshops. Each workshop runs 2–3 hours, with an additional hour before and after for setup and cleanup, totalling approximately 4–5.5 hours per shift).

Lead Fun, Hands-On Workshops - Teach public and private groups through our signature Candle and Diffuser Making 101 Workshop—scent blending, pouring, and customizing—while making it fun, engaging, and inclusive. You’ll ensure each participant leaves with valuable knowledge and two custom scent blends that they love!

Create a Welcoming Vibe - Foster an inclusive, relaxed space where people feel comfortable asking questions, trying something new, and connecting with others. At Milk Jar, we’re intentional about making every participant feel seen and valued—we practice using gender-neutral language, open each session with a land acknowledgment, and lead with empathy, respect, and care in everything we do.

Add Personal Flair - Bring your unique personality and energy to the workshop—use humour, storytelling, and real-life examples to make sessions fun, engaging, and memorable.

Keep it Tidy & Safe - Set up, clean up, and maintain a safe, organized workspace. Follow all health and safety protocols.

Serve with Care - Offer light snacks and drinks (including alcohol) with great hospitality and safe serving practices.

Represent Milk Jar - Be an ambassador for our brand—sharing our story, promoting our products, and bringing our Creating Inviting Spaces mission to life.

Keep Learning - Receive training in and lead a variety of workshop types—including Perfume Roller and Off-Site experiences—while growing alongside us as we expand our offerings. After four months, you’ll have the opportunity to train new assistants and instructors in our methods and uphold the high standards of our workshops.
